San Diego Area Beaches
Carlsbad is known for its beautiful beaches boasting ideal conditions for surfers, swimmers, and beachcombers. Located only a few miles from The Homewood Suites Carlsbad, the beach makes for a great excursion, pack a picnic and be sure to stay long enough to watch the sun set over the Pacific.
-South Carlsbad State Beach: features swimming, surfing, skin diving, fishing and picnicking. The large bluff-top campground is very popular, especially in summer, and it is just over five miles from Homewood Suites.
-Carlsbad State Beach: only two miles from Homewood Suites Carlsbad, this beach offers swimming, surfing, scuba diving, fishing and beachcombing. This small beach is located at the foot of coastal bluffs, south of the town on Carlsbad. It is also one of the two beaches where So Cal Surf offers lessons, May-August.
Legoland California
Legoland, located in Carlsbad California only five miles from the Homewood Suites Carlsbad, is a family theme park that has something for all ages. The park offers a diverse array of activities, including a water park, which will keep everyone entertained for a full day of fun. Some park highlights include:
-DUPLO Village: Venture into the wilds of Africa and see life-sized giraffes, zebras, lions, and more - all made of LEGO bricks. Or, become a resident of Playtown for the day. This fun play area is geared towards our younger guests complete with fun buildings, slides, activities and much more!
-Miniland USA: Miniland USA is the heart of LEGOLAND California. A dedication to the ultimate expression of the LEGO art form, Miniland USA includes reproductions of seven areas of the United States, all constructed with 20 million LEGO bricks in 1:20 scale, that can be seen from many places in the Park.
-LEGOLAND California Resort features the world's first and only LEGOLAND Water Park. The centerpiece is a 45-foot-tall tower designed to immerse children in the creative world of LEGO. The Water Park also features more than 20 LEGO models including giant LEGO friends who splash or spray water on guests, two sandy beach wading areas, retail shops and snack carts.
Del Mar Racetrack
"Where The Surf Meets The Turf" - The Del Mar Racetrack opened in 1937 and during the 37 day racing season crowds of 40,000+ are the norm. Come to Del Mar and join in the excitement of world class thoroughbred racing.
Downtown San Diego
San Diego is quickly becoming one of the most scenic and diverse urban destinations in the United States. Situated between the mountains and the sea on one of the most beautiful natural harbors in the world, downtown San Diego has something for everyone.
For nighttime adventures, visit the Gaslamp Quarter, a 16.5 block historic district, ablaze with over 100 restaurants, 40 nightclubs and bars, entertainment, and retail opportunities galore. During daylight, they can visit the 42,000-seat PETCO Park and cheer on the hometown Padres, or climb aboard the USS Midway Museum to explore the city's rich Navy heritage.

San Diego Zoo
The San Diego Zoo in Balboa Park, San Diego, California, is one of the largest and most progressive zoos in the world, with over 4,000 animals of more than 800 species. It is also one of the few zoos in the world that houses the giant panda. Some permanent exhibits include:

Sea World San Diego
SeaWorld San Diego is an animal theme park, oceanarium, and marine mammal park, located in San Diego, California. The park features shows, rides, and other exhibitions focusing on marine life. The orcas, or killer whales, are among the most popular and well-known attractions, but SeaWorld has a whole lot more to offer! Current shows include:
